How to Use Walker Tape:

1) Preparation

  1. Shaving the Designated Area: Shave the area designated to be covered to ensure optimal adhesive tape adhesion.
  2. Skin Cleaning: Make sure the skin is clean and free of oils or residue. Use a cleanser specifically designed for prosthetics or a gentle skin product.
  3. Drying: Completely dry the area where you will apply the prosthesis. Adhesion works best on a dry surface.

2) Application

  1. Choosing the Shape: Choose the tape shape that best suits your needs: curved, arrow, or straight. The curved shape is highly recommended for following the natural contour of the scalp.
  2. Removing the Backing: Remove the protective backing from one side of the tape.
  3. Applying to the Hairpiece: Apply the exposed adhesive side to the base of the hairpiece. Press firmly to ensure it adheres well.
  4. Removing the Second Backing: Remove the second protective backing from the tape, exposing the other adhesive side.

4) Attachment of the Prosthesis to the Head

  1. Positioning: Align the hairpiece on your head in the desired position.
  2. Applying to the Skin: Press the hairpiece onto the skin, starting from the center and working outwards. Make sure the tape adheres well to the skin without air bubbles.
  3. Pressure: Apply light pressure over the entire surface of the hairpiece to ensure even and secure adhesion.
  4. Hair Drying: Use a hairdryer to gently warm the hairpiece. The heat from the hairdryer helps to better secure the hairpiece to the head.

By following these steps, you will be able to apply the Walker Tape tape effectively and achieve a secure and comfortable hold for your hairpiece.
